Brett Favre Reacts To Aaron Rodgers’ Season-Ending Injury

September 15, 2023 by The Spun

GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN – SEPTEMBER 15: Aaron Rodgers #12 of the Green Bay Packers shares a moment with former quarterback Brett Favre during a ceremony for the late Bart Starr at halftime of the game between the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on September 15, 2019 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. With Aaron Rodgers out for the season after suffering a ruptured Achilles, Rodgers’ former mentor and longtime friend Brett Favre is weighing in on his impending comeback attempt.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, the Hall of Fame quarterback predicted that Rodgers would come back from his injury. He said that he can’t see Rodgers coming back.

“I personally think that he will come back,” Favre said. “I don’t see him going out like this.”

Favre also lamented that Rodgers wasn’t able to spend more time on the field for the New York Jets after all of the hype that was built up over the NFL offseason.

“It seemed to me from the outside looking in they had a good thing going there,” Favre said. “Just the vibe I was getting. If that’s the case — if he felt that way too, give it a shot. That’s what I would tell him.”

Brett Favre himself enjoyed a year in New York that ended in tragedy after a midseason injury doomed the team to a 9-7 finish and missing the playoffs after an 8-3 start.

Favre wound up playing a full season with the Minnesota Vikings the year after but went out on the shield the following season in a game against the Chicago Bears.

We wish Rodgers the best in his recovery.
