The Packers won’t have to worry about Jordan Love hitting the open market next offseason. Moments ago, the two sides agreed to a one-year extension.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Packers have signed Love to a one-year extension worth up to $22.5 million. This contract includes $13.5 million fully guaranteed.
Love’s fifth-year option on his rookie contract was worth $20.272 million fully guaranteed. So, in theory, he could earn a bit more money in 2024 if he plays well.
The Packers, on the other hand, get some protection by not fully guaranteeing Love’s one-year extension.

Love is set to enter his first year as the starting quarterback of the Packers. He has been waiting for this moment since the 2020 NFL Draft.
In limited action last season, Love completed 14-of-21 pass attempts for 195 yards with a touchdown.
Time will tell if Love can be the heir apparent to Aaron Rodgers.
