Green Bay Packers fans should recognize the big man wearing No. 76 for the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI.

The Bengals elevated former Packers defensive lineman Mike Daniels from the practice squad to the gameday roster for Sunday’s season-ending showdown against the Los Angeles Rams.

The elevation gives Daniels a real chance to play in his first-ever Super Bowl.

Daniels, a fourth-round pick of the Packers in 2012, appeared in 102 games and made the postseason five times over seven total seasons in Green Bay. He’s been with the Bengals for the last two seasons in various capacities, including this season on the practice squad.

Daniels, now 32, has been on the field for three games with the Bengals in 2021, including one playoff game. He played 64 snaps on defense over two games in the regular season.

Daniels never got a chance to play in a Super Bowl as a member of the Packers. He reached the NFC title game in 2014 and 2016.

The Packers released him before the 2019 season. He spent one season with the Detroit Lions before signing with the Bengals in 2020. He’s played 13 total games for the team.

A wrecking ball on the field in his prime, Daniels tallied 29.0 sacks and 47 tackles for losses while with the Packers, and he went to the Pro Bowl in 2017.

If nothing else, Daniels’ opportunity with the Bengals should give Packers fans a team to cheer for on Sunday.
