Back in 2014, Aaron Rodgers famously implored Green Bay Packers fans to “r-e-l-a-x” after the team started 1-2. He seems to be taking the same approach following the team’s 38-3 season-opening loss to the New Orleans Saints.
During his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers said he’s more focused on how his team responds to the loss, which he feels will be “just a good learning lesson for us.”
“We can’t play like that, we can’t start a game like that,” Rodgers said, via Pro Football Talk. “Like I said after the game, our energy level was a little bit low before the game. We have to do a better job responding to adversity. There’s not much to say. We got our asses beat by 35 points, we’re all frustrated about it, but just move on. We have 16 more to go.”
Rodgers went to reiterate that he has confidence in himself and his teammates to be able to get things going in the right direction.
It feels like you are still in a VERY good spot..
“A game like that allows a lot of speculation to come into play.. this game is about how you respond to negativity more than how you’re hailed for your successes” ~@AaronRodgers12#PatMcAfeeShowLIVE pic.twitter.com/5U2yfaK7jp

We’ve seen Rodgers and the Packers rebound from poor performances in the past, so we’re not pressing the panic button on Green Bay yet. They also have a tailor-made “get right” game coming up in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions on Monday night.
Additionally, given the state of the NFC North, the Packers have some time to work out their kinks. The Lions are going to be bad again, the Bears won’t be competitive as long as Andy Dalton is the starter and the Vikings look mediocre at best.
