Four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers is going “back and forth” on whether he wants to play for the Green Bay Packers or be traded to the Denver Broncos, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

It appears Rodgers’ decision on his football future can be boiled down to returning to the Packers for an 18th season or requesting a trade to Denver where he can start something new with the Broncos.

“The Denver Broncos have always been the potential trade location. I’m not saying anything is happening there right now, it doesn’t seem like the Packers have entertained any trade thoughts at all. But in Rodgers’ mind, if he was not in Green Bay, it seems that would be the other spot he would want to be.”

Rodgers is “truly torn” about where he wants to play in 2022, per Rapoport.

The football world is anxiously awaiting his decision.

The Packers mended their relationship with Rodgers over the last year, improved communication between the organization and quarterback and hired Tom Clements to replace Luke Getsy as the quarterbacks coach.

The Broncos hired former Packers coaches Nathaniel Hackett and Justin Outten and have the draft capital to offer an attractive trade package for Rodgers.

Despite gaining momentum on Rodgers’ potential return to Green Bay, it appears a trade to Denver is still in the mix – and retirement is the far less likely third option.

Rodgers will have to decide at some point soon: Does staying in Green Bay provide the best path forward, both personally and professionally, in terms of chasing his goals? Or does he want a fresh start with a new organization?

Both the Packers and Broncos can offer a strong relationship with the head coach, a winning brand of offense and a talented overall roster. It’s now on Rodgers to decide which path he wants to go down.
