A massive story involving Aaron Rodgers hit The Athletic on Wednesday.
It details everything regarding his departure from the Green Bay Packers, including when the team drafted Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Rodgers admitted that he got a text from his agent that said “QB” when the Packers were taking Love and immediately canceled his scheduled appearance on the Pat McAfee Show.
“That’s when I went and poured myself a little glass of Añejo and waited for somebody to call me,” Rodgers said, via The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman.
Rodgers then went on to say that everyone in the organization signed off on the pick even though they knew he wouldn’t be happy with it.
It still led Rodgers to play for the team for the next three seasons before he finally decided he wanted out. He said earlier this year he wanted to play for the New York Jets and his wish was granted to him last month.
He’ll now try and lead the Jets to their first Super Bowl since 1969.
