5 Trade Destinations For This Disgruntled All-Pro

March 10, 2023 by Last Word On Pro Football

Stefon Diggs Trade

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs does not appear to be happy with his current team and seems to be seeking a trade. The former All-Pro didn’t shy away from showing his frustrations in the AFC Divisional Round and his recent tweets imply that his feelings haven’t changed over the past few months. The Bills will likely do everything in their power to keep him around, but if push comes to shove, these five teams make the most sense as potential destinations.

It’s just business… don’t take it personal

Top 5 Stefon Diggs Trade Destinations, Ranked

Dallas Cowboys

CeeDee Lamb is a superstar in the making, but the rest of the Dallas Cowboys pass catchers don’t exactly instill fear in the defense. Michael Gallup had a rough 2022 return from an ACL injury, and he might be better off as the third option in a passing attack, and the team is probably going to lose Dalton Schultz to free agency. This offense is at its best when there are three great receivers on the field, and adding Diggs should help the Cowboys compete with the Phildelphia Eagles in what should be a dangerous NFC East.

New York Giants

The New York Giants somehow found a way to make it to the playoffs with arguably the worst supporting cast in football. While Daniel Jones deserves a lot of praise for his work, it goes without saying that this offense would be a lot more dangerous if Isaiah Hodgins wasn’t the best receiver on the field. As an added bonus, Brian Daboll is already familiar with Diggs from his time in Buffalo, so he should be able to incorporate the wideout from Day 1.

Green Bay Packers

Chances are, the Green Bay Packers are going to spend the 2023 campaign figuring out what they have in Jordan Love. Nobody knows if Love will be a worthy heir to Aaron Rodgers, but the best way to increase his odds of long-term success is to give him a great playmaker. Stefon Diggs did wonders for Josh Allen’s development, so hopefully, he can do the same for Love.

Baltimore Ravens

It’s not a wide receiver list if it doesn’t include the Baltimore Ravens. Whether or not Lamar Jackson comes back, the team is going to need an infusion of talent at the position. It’s highly unlikely the Bills trade Stefon Diggs to a contender in their conference, so for the sake of argument, we’re going to assume that Lamar Jackson is no longer a Raven. In this reality, Baltimore will have a rookie quarterback and will add Diggs not to compete in 2023, but to help their young passer develop into a franchise cornerstone.

New Orleans Saints

Dennis Allen and the New Orleans Saints are doing everything in their power to win a weak NFC South and save their jobs for another season. Replacing Andy Dalton with Derek Carr is a good first step, but now they need to find another reliable receiver. Chris Olave is a star in the making, and trading for Stefon Diggs could give the Saints the best receiver duo in football. And, if the team is able to come to terms with Michael Thomas, then it’s the best trio in the league. Obviously, money would be an issue, but Diggs would only carry an $8.4 million cap hit if traded after June 1st.
