Yeah, we’re a Packers blog, but we try to stay objective and we’re all picking Green Bay on Sunday.
With the Green Bay Packers playing the New Orleans Saints at a neutral site this weekend (Jacksonville’s TIAA Bank Field) instead of at the Superdome, Green Bay has seen the point spread for Sunday’s season opener grow a bit. The Packers now sit as a 4-point or 4.5-point favorite, depending on where you look, a year after beating the Saints 37-30 in New Orleans a year ago.
As we begin our annual game picks here at Acme Packing Company, we find ourselves being extremely confident in the Packers this Sunday. The Saints’ roster turnover, plus the absence of players like DT David Onyemata (suspension) and WR Michael Thomas (ankle surgery) seem to set up excellent matchups for Green Bay on both sides of the football. As a result, it’s a clean sweep (as of publishing on Thursday afternoon) in favor of the Packers in our writers’ picks for Sunday.
As a reminder, APC’s contributors will provide our straight-up picks for each NFL game, while some writers will also pick against the point spread and over/under totals. Check the picks out below and keep it here at APC all season long to see how our picks hold up over the course of the 2021 campaign.
