The details for Wisconsin’s non-conference schedule have been revealed.
The Wisconsin Badgers had their non-conference schedule details revealed on Thursday, getting kickoff times and channels for their first three games of the season.
Wisconsin kicks off the year with a home game against Miami (OH). That game will take place on Thursday, August 28th, with kickoff slated for 8:00 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
The Badgers have kicked off six of their past eight seasons with a night game, including last year, when they beat the Western Michigan Broncos 28-14 on a Friday night to start the season. Wisconsin has gone 6-0 on those night games.
In Week 2, the Badgers stay at home to face Middle Tennessee State. That game will be on Saturday, September 6th, with kickoff slated for 3:00 p.m. on FS1.
Then comes the big non-conference battle: the second game of the home-and-home versus the Alabama Crimson Tide. Wisconsin had an ugly loss a season ago, losing 42-10 at Camp Randall Stadium for their first defeat of the year.
This time around, they’re heading to Bryant-Denny Stadium on September 13th to take on the Crimson Tide, with kickoff slated for 11:00 a.m. on either ABC or ESPN.
Of course, most eyes will be on that third week for Wisconsin, which will serve as their biggest test during the non-conference slate. It’ll be a high-profile game, being played on a major network as well, only attracting more eyeballs to the contest.
Wisconsin got the Big Noon Kickoff draw on FOX last year for their 11:00 a.m. game against the Crimson Tide. Now, it’ll be the other way around on either ABC or ESPN, with the hope of a better result.
