The Badgers had a frenzy at wide receiver this weekend.
The Wisconsin Badgers have finished up their third (and likely final) weekend of official visits, bringing in their last major group of targets as they look to close on more players in the 2026 class.
There’s been a lot of movement with the group overall, as the Badgers have gotten some major commitments, while missing out on a few others.
So, let’s break down the current state of the 2026 class, looking at who’s committed, off the board, and still on the board, starting with the offense.
Quarterback
Commit(s): Ryan Hopkins
The Badgers are done at quarterback with the April commitment of four-star Ryan Hopkins. There are no further plans here.
Running Back
Commit(s): N/A
Left on board: Amari Latimer
The Badgers have focused their sights on Georgia four-star Amari Latimer, going all-in on the running back.
Things are looking good after Wisconsin got the four-star back on campus for an unofficial visit the weekend after his official visit. He went on an official visit to Georgia Tech last weekend, and a decision seems to be on the horizon soon.
Wide Receiver
Commit(s): Zion Legree, Tayshon Bardo
Left on board: Jayden Petit
Off the board: Zachary Washington
Wisconsin had the commitment from Tayshon Bardo coming into official visits. They were looking to take three receivers in the class, but the commitment from Zion Legree over the weekend closed the group.
As a result, Zachary Washington, who elected to take all of his official visits, ended up at Michigan State. The exception is the ultra-talented four-star Jayden Petit, who is taking an unofficial visit to Wisconsin this weekend after coming on an official visit already.
If Wisconsin can land him in addition to Legree, it would be a fantastic first class for position coach Jordan Reid.
Tight End
Commit(s): Jack Janda, Jack Sievers
Off the board: Gavin Mueller
The Badgers had an early official visit for longtime tight end target Gavin Mueller, but he committed to Colorado in May.
After that, Wisconsin had its other top targets in the class, Jack Janda and Jack Sievers, committed after the first weekend, closing out the door here. They had others scheduled for official visits, but those were canceled after the early commitments.
Offensive Line
Commit(s): Maddox Cochrane, Benjamin Novak
Left on board: Wilson Zierer, Kamari Blair
Off the board: Jalayne Miller
Wisconsin had commitments from Maddox Cochrane and Benjamin Novak heading into official visits.
Wilson Zierer and Kamari Blair are others who have taken visits and are still on the board for the Badgers, but both have stiff competition for their services. Auburn and Georgia seem to be ahead for Zierer, while Blair has a top four of Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.
Jalayne Miller had a good visit to Wisconsin, but ultimately popped to Stanford after his trip to Madison.
