Kayden McDonald out of Georgia is the latest man in the middle of the defense that the Badgers have offered
Recruiting is the lifeblood of any major college athletics team, but following it closely as a fan can sometimes be difficult and can often be time consuming. We’ll try and condense all the recruiting news you can use into this bi-weekly (sometimes more) post. It’ll include updates on current commits, including stats from their high school games, as well as news on players the Badgers are still pursuing. Let’s get down to business!
- 2023 4-star (247Sports only) DT Kayden McDonald (Suwanee, Ga.) out of North Gwinnett High School announced that he received a scholarship offer from Wisconsin Monday afternoon. He has three other scholarship offers currently, from Georgia, Michigan State and Tennessee. The Georgia insider on 247 has put in a Crystal Ball for the Dawgs, but nobody else has, and you’d assume with only four offers McDonald isn’t particularly close to making a decision.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing around 325 pounds, McDonald is a mammoth defensive tackle who would fit in on a Big Ten or SEC team immediately. 247’s standalone rankings have him as the No. 136 player and No. 11 DT in the country while being the No. 17 player in Georgia.
McDonald moves with a startling quickness for a player his size. He can easily collapse the pocket from the DT position and is also able to blow up even fast developing running plays, let alone slow developing ones like the reverse he makes two tackles, and forces a fumble, on. He is strong and the end of his highlight video is a hilarious sequence of him setting up as a sort of H-back on offense and pancaking every opposing defender in sight. He also scores a rushing touchdown which further highlights his athleticism.
The 2022 class and the 2023 will probably both see the Badgers take a nose tackle and McDonald would be an excellent get for the latter class.
