Wisconsin quickly lifted Jordan Turner’s suspension.
On June 30, the program suspended the linebacker indefinitely for violating the athletic department’s discipline policy. However, per Jeff Potrykus of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Wisconsin reinstated Turner on Monday following an internal inquiry.
After his suspension, Turner revealed he was cited for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
“My parents raised me to do the right things in life and unfortunately, this time I didn’t. I made the wrong decision,” Turner wrote in a statement on Twitter. “I’m very disappointed and embarrassed and I want to personally apologize to my parents, my teammates, my coaches, the fans, and the University of Wisconsin.”
Per #Badgers officials: LB Jordan Turner has been reinstated after violating student-athlete discipline policy (OWI).

Jordan Turner joined Wisconsin as a three-star recruit to redshirt in 2020. Starting 11 of 13 games played last year, he recorded 65 tackles, two sacks, and a pick for the Badgers. An eight-tackle performance led to Turner getting named MVP of the Badgers’ Guaranteed Rate Bowl win over Oklahoma State.
A returning Turner could play a significant role in Wisconsin’s defense this season.
