The Badgers have gotten quite a bit of traction with their 2026 class over the last two weeks.
The Wisconsin Badgers have now wrapped up their second weekend of official visits, where another large group of priority targets made their way to campus.
Wisconsin had a strong first weekend, as five recruits popped a commitment after their visits, while others could still be on the way over the coming weeks. They followed that up with another important weekend of visits where current commits and hopeful targets made the trip up to Madison to soak in the summer.
The Badgers usually preserve their third weekend of official visits for needs only, so that group changes quite a bit, always. So, where does Wisconsin stand with its 2026 recruiting class after the first two weekends of official visits?
Let’s start with the offensive side of the ball.
Quarterback
The Badgers came into official visits locked in at quarterback. Four-star Ryan Hopkins was their top target, and they nabbed a commitment there back in April after a spring visit.
Wisconsin stopped recruiting other quarterbacks in the class, and Hopkins made his way to Madison last weekend for an official visit. The Badgers will need to maintain his commitment through the fall, where Hopkins is now playing at powerhouse Mater Dei, but their room appears set here.
Running Back
Like at quarterback, Wisconsin could’ve elected to target multiple running backs in the cycle, but went all-in for four-star Amari Latimer. Latimer, a Georgia native, just made back-to-back visits to Madison, cancelling a Michigan official visit in the process.
He still has two visits remaining, including one to Georgia, but things look good for the Badgers here after the visits to Wisconsin this month.
Wide Receiver
Wisconsin has a commitment from three-star Tayshon Bardo to kick off the class.
They’re firmly in the mix for three-star Zachary Washington, who came on an official visit during the first weekend, with Michigan State being the top competition. A decision there could come soon.
They also hosted four-star Jayden Petit during the first weekend. Wisconsin made a strong push, but Oklahoma, Miami, and UNC are all pushing hard.
Four-star Zion Legree, who recently de-committed from Ole Miss, is scheduled to be on campus this upcoming weekend. A burner on the boundary, Wisconsin is Legree’s lone official visit at the moment, but other schools, such as Florida, are pushing for a visit as well.
Wisconsin is hoping for three wideouts in the class. We’ll see if they can get there with their top targets.
Tight End
Wisconsin locked up the tight end position last weekend with the commitments of three-star Jack Sievers and Jack Janda. They got both players on campus, and they were two of the five commits from the first weekend.
Now, they’re all set going forward, marking their third straight two tight end class.
Offensive Line
Wisconsin has commitments from three-stars Maddox Cochrane and Benjamin Novak. They’re looking for one more offensive lineman to round out the group.
That could be three-star Jalayne Miller, who was on campus this weekend. Miller has a visit to Auburn still remaining, while trips to Stanford and Arizona State have already taken place.
Other targets include four-star Wilson Zierer, who was on campus for a midweek visit, and four-star Kamari Blair, who was in Madison for the first weekend.
Can Wisconsin close on any of the three? That would close out their class. At the moment, it feels like Miller is the most realistic candidate.
