Tonje should hear his name called at the 2025 NBA Draft on Wednesday evening.

It’s officially the day of the 2025 NBA Draft, which means a little something extra for one Wisconsin Badgers basketball player.

John Tonje should be one of 59 players to hear their name called on Wednesday evening, as he’s currently projected to go in the second round of the draft, although his draft range has varied through several mock drafts.

With it now being draft day, let’s take a look at where Tonje is being projected and who his next team could be.

ESPN’s Jonathan Givony: Pick No. 39, Toronto Raptors

The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie: Pick No. 48, Memphis Grizzlies

NBC Sports: Pick No. 41, Golden State Warriors

CBS Sports’s Kyle Boone: Pick No. 47, Milwaukee Bucks

Yahoo Sports’s Kevin O’Connor: Pick No. 39, Toronto Raptors

It seems like Tonje could go to a wide range of places in the second round, with Badgers fans presumably hoping that ends up at No. 47 to the Milwaukee Bucks.

While Tonje’s style of play may raise some questions about fit at the next level, he’s a veteran player who can shoot the ball, score efficiently, and shows effort on defense as a bigger wing with his frame.

Those traits have value off the bench, where players are becoming more important than ever with the new salary cap crunch in the NBA. Teams need depth, which is where the draft comes in handy.

Regardless of where it is, it should be a good day for Tonje, as he’ll very likely see his name called on Wednesday evening to kick off his NBA career.
