The Badgers have a big year ahead of them in 2025.
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NCAA. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Wisconsin Badgers fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
It’s safe to say that the Wisconsin Badgers haven’t had their best seasons over the last two years, going a combined 12-13 to kick off the Luke Fickell era.
When Fickell was hired as the head coach at Wisconsin, big things were expected as he and athletic director Chris McIntosh preached the goal of competing for championships and earning a College Football Playoff berth.
Ultimately, neither has happened, and the Badgers don’t seem very close to accomplishing those goals heading into the 2025 season.
Wisconsin underwent a major roster change this offseason, acquiring a boatload of transfers to add experience and depth at key positions, which they struggled with in 2024.
But, the Badgers undoubtedly have one of the toughest schedules in all of college football, which is why their projected win total only stands at 5.5 games at the moment.
If Wisconsin underperforms for a third consecutive season and fails to make a bowl game again, there will be major question marks heading into the 2026 season, starting with the infrastructure up top.
That leads us to one of our Reacts questions of the week: Where does Luke Fickell stand on the hot seat meter ahead of the 2025 season?
