The Badgers exceeded expectations in 2024, but fell short in the NCAA tournament.

The Wisconsin Badgers exceeded expectations in 2024, ending up as a top-five team in the Big Ten after being projected to finish in 12th place on the preseason conference media poll.
However, all of that success came to a screeching halt when Wisconsin suffered a 91-89 loss to the BYU Cougars in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, ending their season without a Sweet Sixteen appearance yet again.
In fact, head coach Greg Gard hasn’t made the Sweet Sixteen since 2017, failing to get out of the first two rounds of the tournament ever since.
Now, he and his staff have done a great job recruiting, both on the high school side and in the transfer portal. But, results are what matter in today’s world, and Gard needs to advance further in the tournament sooner rather than later.
So, in our weekly polls, we’re gauging where most see Gard on the hot seat meter ahead of the 2025 season. Is he completely off the radar now after an above-average season?
