The Badgers had several former players earn NFL contracts after the draft.
The Wisconsin Badgers saw two of their former players get drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft, as Jack Nelson was taken by the Atlanta Falcons, while Hunter Wohler was selected by the Indianapolis Colts.
Both players were taken in the seventh round of the draft, which was a little later than expected, but they were the lone selections for the Badgers this year.
Wisconsin was only expected to have one other player, Joe Huber, taken in the draft, but the offensive lineman ended up as an undrafted free agent, where he had interest.
There were a few other players who also garnered some undrafted free agent interest, so let’s break down all the UDFA signings for former Badgers players over the last few days.
Joe Huber: Minnesota Vikings
Huber will have a good chance to compete with a roster spot for the Minnesota Vikings, who only had five selections in the 2025 NFL Draft.
He joins a Vikings offensive line group that added Ohio State’s Donovan Jackson in the first round, and should compete for one of the backup interior spots behind Jackson, Ryan Kelly, and Will Fries.
RJ Delancy: New York Giants
While Delancy didn’t have as much playing time at Wisconsin in 2024, he had plenty of tape from Toledo and tested very well at the Badgers’ Pro Day with a 4.40 40-yard dash that made it likely he’d earn an undrafted free agent contract somewhere.
Well, that somewhere is the New York Giants, who added only one defensive back in the draft: seventh-round cornerback Korie Black.
Delancy is undersized, which could limit his chances at the next level for a roster spot, but he’ll potentially compete for a backup nickel role.
Bryson Green: Arizona Cardinals
Green was another interesting case, as injuries and offensive scheme hampered his production over the last two seasons.
But, he was another elite tester at Wisconsin’s Pro Day, running well with a 4.48 40-yard dash and posting great vertical and broad jumps as well.
He was one of the highest-paid undrafted free agents, according to Aaron Wilson, earning $264,000 in total guarantees and a three-year, $2.9 million contract.
He should have a good spot to compete for a roster spot at wide receiver.
Jaheim Thomas: Carolina Panthers (minicamp invite)
Thomas earned a minicamp invite with the Carolina Panthers after going undrafted, getting a chance to compete for a spot on the 90-man roster.
Thomas came to Wisconsin after a year at Arkansas and started at linebacker, getting some reps as a pass-rusher as well. Carolina could test him at both positions in minicamp.
John Pius: Cleveland Browns (minicamp invite)
Pius is the final player to earn a minicamp invite so far, getting one with the Cleveland Browns.
Pius had a great redshirt junior season at William & Mary, racking up sacks, but only had 2.5 at Wisconsin in his final year of college while playing a rotational role for the Badgers.
He’ll get his shot with a camp invite for Cleveland.
