No. 9 Wisconsin Badgers (13-2, 6-1 Big Ten) take three-straight sets from No. 23 UCLA Bruins (10-7, 4-3 Big Ten) and former Badger libero Lola Schumacher.
The intensity was high as the Badgers faced UCLA and former Badger Schumacher, but the power that Wisconsin brought was unmatched.
Wisconsin came out hot in the first set, going on a 7-0 scoring run, setting the score at 12-4. Freshman setter Addy Horner held her ground at the net, with nine assists, one kill and two block assists with redshirt sophomore middle Alicia Andrew. Horner racked up a hitting percentage of .667% going four-for-six at the net.
The Badgers ended the first set with a kill from Horner, assisted by senior outsider Mimi Colyer, stealing the first set from the Bruins 25-14.
The Bruins came back with more fight in the second set, not letting Wisconsin get the sweep easily.

The Bruins started the first set off with a point off an error from Wisconsin Una Vajagic, but the error didn’t stop the Badgers from dominating.
Colyer had an outstanding five kills in the second set, assisted by Horner to gain a hitting percentage of .325% . But the net presence from the Badgers isn’t the only thing that set them ahead, the Bruins also had their fair share of errors.
Wisconsin closed out the second set with a block from Andrews and freshman outside Madison Quest, gaining set two 25-20.
Set three rolled around and UCLA knew they needed to turn up the heat, but once again, Wisconsin got hot.
Senior middle Carter Booth put down four kills in the third, going eight for 13, ending the night with a hitting percentage of .538% . Wisconsin ended the third set over UCLA 25-21, sweeping the Bruins at home and gaining their fourth ranked win in the 2025 season.
The Wisconsin Badgers are set to face No. 25 USC Trojans Oct.19 at 1 p.m. back at the University of Wisconsin Fieldhouse.
