One former Badgers player on each side of the ball was drafted.
The Wisconsin Badgers saw a pair of former players get selected in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Offensive tackle Jack Nelson was taken by the Atlanta Falcons with the No. 218 pick in the seventh round, while safety Hunter Wohler was taken by the Indianapolis Colts with the No. 232 pick in the seventh round.
Nelson, a multi-year starter at left guard and left tackle for the Badgers, was projected to go on Day 3, with several top analysts having either a fifth or sixth-round grade on the offensive lineman.
Ultimately, he fell a little further than that, but got selected in the seventh round, becoming the lone former Badger on the Falcons roster. He slots in as a backup tackle for Atlanta behind starters Jake Matthews and Kaleb McGary.
Wohler, on the other hand, was also projected to go on Day 3 with a fifth or sixth-round grade, and ultimately fell to the middle of the seventh round to the Colts.
The Colts have a couple of former Badgers, with running back Jonathan Taylor and center Tanor Bortolini both serving as starters, and Wohler now joins that mix. He’ll be in a safety room currently headlined by Camryn Bynum and Nick Cross.
A couple of other Badgers, such as Joe Huber, ultimately went undrafted and signed free agent deals after the draft.
