The Badgers saw two players earn All-Big Ten awards for the 2023 season.

The Big Ten conference announced the 2023 All-Big Ten defensive and special teams awards, as well as select individual honors on Tuesday, and the Wisconsin Badgers saw a few players earn honors.

It was an up-and-down year for the Badgers defensively, who lost key contributors Keeanu Benton and Nick Herbig to the NFL Draft.

But, a few players were able to step up, ultimately leading to some All-Big Ten appearances.

In the coaches vote, safety Hunter Wohler earned All-Big Ten third-team honors, marking the lone Badgers appearance on the list. Cornerback Ricardo Hallman was an honorable mention.

In the media vote, Wohler earned All-Big Ten second-team honors, while Hallman was named to the All-Big third team. Kicker Nathanial Vakos was the only other player who saw recognition, earning an honorable mention.

Wohler has accumulated a team-high 113 tackles on the season to go with four pass-breakups, two interceptions, and a sack. Wohler’s 113 tackles are the second-most in the Big Ten.

Hallman had a Big-Ten high six interceptions in 2023, breaking up five passes as well while exclusively working the field side.

Nathanial Vakos made 14/17(82.3 percent) of his kicks this season, the fourth-highest mark in the Big Ten, while converting all 30 of his extra points.
