The Wisconsin Badgers landed a Division II standout on Tuesday night.
Former Grand Valley State cornerback Nyzier Fourqurean announced his decision to join Wisconsin. The All-American had previously committed to Vanderbilt.

Fourqurean told BadgerBlitz’s Raul Vazquez he’s “real excited” to play for the Badgers. His former Grand Valley State head coach, Matt Mitchell, is now a linebackers assistant at Wisconsin.
“Coach Mitchell did play a huge role in my commitment,” Fourqurean said. “We’re on the same page, and he wouldn’t bring me here if it wasn’t the right opportunity for me. He let me know that it’s a great fit for both sides. I’ve also walking into a great culture and a great school at Wisconsin.”
The 185-pound defensive back tallied four interceptions and 14 pass breakups last season for the Lakers, who were undefeated before losing in the Division II quarterfinals to Ferris State.
Fourqurean, who has two years of eligibility remaining, is eager to compete for a significant role. Wisconsin lost three cornerbacks (Avyonne Jones, A’Khoury Lyde, and Al Ashford III) to the transfer portal in Luke Fickell’s first offseason with the Badgers.
