Look: Former 5-Star Recruit’s New Hairdo Is Going Viral

August 21, 2021 by The Spun Leave a Comment

Bucky the Badger waves the Wisconsin flag with the band.

Former five-star offensive tackle Nolan Rucci is getting ready for his freshman year with the Wisconsin Badgers. But he kicked off the start to his college career with a new hairdo that has quickly gone viral.

During practice, Badgers Blitz writer Jake Kocorowski noted that a handful of players were sporting new hairdos. But when he found Rucci, he had to share his photo with the world.

Photos taken from Wisconsin training shows the 6-foot-8 teenager sporting a bald top with all of his hair coming down and around the back of his head. Kocorowski noted that Rucci used to sport a mullet, which was clearly trimmed a little.

It’s an interesting look to be sure, and one that is quickly going viral. Some are dubbing his new haircut an homage to everyone from Terry Bradshaw to Ray Nitschke to Benjamin Franklin.

I see he’s going for the Ray Nitschke look. He’s got the hair and number to match.

He looks like a young Ben Franklin.

Wisconsin fans are going to get used to seeing Nolan Rucci and his hair a lot over the next couple of years. Coming out of high school he was one of the top prospects in the country.

247Sports rated Rucci as the No. 16 overall prospect in the Class of 2021. He was the No. 5 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 1 prospect from his home state of Pennsylvania.

Rucci comes from a strong football background too. His father, Todd Rucci, was an eight-year offensive lineman in the NFL. His older brother, Hayden Rucci, is a tight end for the Badgers.

How would you rate Nolan Rucci’s hairdo?
