Frank Kaminsky holds his own, but Milwaukee Bucks win NBA Title

99% of the people reading this are probably still celebrating the Bucks title, but Kaminsky deserves celebrating too!

Bucks in six. So it was written, so it was done.

The Milwaukee Bucks beat the Phoenix Suns 105-98 on Tuesday night at a raucous Fiserv Forum to wrap up the NBA championship in six games. Led by the unbelievable and indomitable Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 50 points (and 14 rebounds and five blocks and two assists) the Bucks weren’t going to be denied on their home floor.

However, there is a far less heralded player that had a solid, if unspectacular role, in Game 6’s outcome. Former Wisconsin big man, and national player of the year, Frank Kaminsky was once again thrust into duty when Phoenix Suns’ starting center Deandre Ayton got into foul trouble. This usually meant that a large Bucks’ run was incoming as Milwaukee would ruthlessly hunt Kaminsky when they were on offense and mostly disregard him when on defense.

In Game 6 though, Kaminsky played 11 solid minutes and had a plus/minus of zero (I know that doesn’t sound that impressive, but he was routinely in the minus double digits categories earlier in the series).

He shot 3-of-4 from the field for six points, grabbed two boards (one offensive) and dished out one assist all while being respectable on defense. It was, quite frankly, more than Phoenix head coach Monty Williams probably hoped for when subbing him in. Needless to say, people were impressed.

This series worked out just about perfectly for Wisconsin fans who also support the Bucks. The Bucks, obviously, won the title and Kaminsky probably secured himself a job for the foreseeable future. Win, win!
