Hepburn, the Badgers starting point guard for the past three years, saw a dip in his numbers this past season amid the addition of A.J. Storr, as he averaged 9.2 points per game, while shooting 42.9 percent from the field.
However, the guard had a strong end to the season, finding his shot over the final month, while evolving into an efficient distributor as the team’s top facilitator this year.
Now entering the transfer portal though, Hepburn could look to spend the final years of his college eligibility at another destination.
Hepburn is the second high-profile transfer for the Badgers this season, who also lost A.J. Storr to the portal. Storr committed to Kansas on Thursday, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
More notably, Hepburn was a key figure in Wisconsin’s recruitment of transfer forward Frankie Fidler, who had recently taken an official visit to Madison late last month.
With Hepburn and Storr in the portal, the Badgers currently have Max Klesmit, John Blackwell, and Kamari McGee as key returnees in the backcourt, with 2024 four-star guard Daniel Freitag coming this summer as well.
