The Badgers have been looking for a transfer portal offensive lineman.
The Wisconsin Badgers landed a commitment from Central Michigan transfer offensive lineman Davis Heinzen, he announced on Saturday.

Heinzen, a three-year starter at offensive tackle for Central Michigan, fills a key need for the Badgers, who lost starting left tackle Kevin Heywood to a torn ACL earlier in the spring.
A Manitowoc, Wisconsin native, Heinzen should compete with tackle Leyton Nelson for the starting left tackle job once he arrives in Madison.
Standing 6’5, 310 pounds, Heinzen offers experience as a starter, and fits the Badgers culture, being an in-state recruit.
Wisconsin had experimented at left tackle following the injury to Heywood, even trying Joe Brunner at the position for certain stretches. But, if Heinzen is able to come in and win the starting job, it would allow Brunner to move back to his natural spot at left guard, strengthening the interior offensive line.
The Badgers previously landed Missouri State tight end Lance Mason in the transfer portal on Friday, and now have back-to-back splashes with Heinzen, filling out a position of need.
