The Badgers added what should be their final scholarship player for the 2025 season.
The Wisconsin Badgers double-dipped with additions on Thursday, landing Tulsa guard Braeden Carrington in the transfer portal, he announced.
Carrington, a 6’4, 200-pound guard, averaged 7.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game in 2024, while shooting 35.1 percent from the field and 33.6 percent from three.
Originally from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Carrington spent his first two seasons with the Golden Gophers, where he played 41 games and started 10 before transferring.
Now, he’ll spend his final year of eligibility with the Badgers and is expected to be their final scholarship player, joining Lithuania’s Alexis Bieliauskas as the two additions for Wisconsin today.
With Carrington in the fold, here are Wisconsin’s scholarship guards and wings for the 2025-26 season: John Blackwell (assuming he returns), Jack Janicki, Nick Boyd, Carrington, Andrew Rohde, Jack Robison, and Zach Kinziger.
After starting 19 games last year at Tulsa, Carrington should resort to more of a bench role at Wisconsin, which will hopefully increase his efficiency. But, Wisconsin has valued experience over the last few seasons, which Carrington will bring as a reserve in 2025-26.
