Wisconsin’s safety room finally kicked off with a commitment on Friday.
The Wisconsin Badgers have secured a commitment from 2026 three-star defensive back Zachary Taylor, he announced on Friday.
Taylor, a native of Katy, Texas, had an official visit to Wisconsin last weekend and decided to shut down his recruitment ahead of official visits to Pittsburgh and Houston.
In-state schools were always considered to be the biggest threat after Taylor took official visits to Texas Tech and TCU, but Taylor is now a Badger, kicking off the team’s safety room in the 2026 class.
A prized athlete, Taylor had run a 4.39 40-yard dash and saw his recruitment take off this spring, with the Badgers taking notice.
He join’s cornerback commit Carsen Eloms as the lone defensive backs in Wisconsin’s 2026 class.
The Badgers have hosted a few safety targets already, including four-star Messiah Tilson, and are hosting a pair of Georgia natives, Tony Forney and Jowell Combay, this weekend.
They’ve been looking for two safeties in their 2026 class. Now, they have Taylor in the fold ahead of their final weekend of official visits.
