Williams, a walk-on redshirt junior from the Milwaukee, Wisconsin had been a slot cornerback for the majority of his career with the Badgers, given his 5’9, 175-pound frame.
During his recruitment, Williams had seen interest from both Wisconsin and Minnesota, ultimately choosing the latter.
However, Williams wasn’t on the team this past season, hence why it was expected for him to enter the transfer portal now.
During his time at Wisconsin, Williams didn’t see the field much, primarily earning special-teams reps in 2022.
In the spring, Williams was the second-team slot cornerback behind starter Jason Maitre, but eventually didn’t remain with the team when the roster was released in the fall.
Williams becomes the fifth Badgers player to enter the portal this offseason, joining offensive lineman Dylan Barrett, quarterback Myles Burkett, linebacker Ross Gengler, and wide receivers Chimere Dike and Skyler Bell.
