The Badgers got their priority linebacker to commit after an official visit.
The Wisconsin Badgers have land a commitment from 2026 three-star linebacker Ben Wenzel, he announced on Sunday.
Wenzel is the second commitment for the day, joining three-star defensive lineman Arthur Scott, and is also the second of this official visit cycle for the Badgers.
An in-state player from Appleton, Wisconsin, Wenzel was a late offer for the Badgers, getting his just two weeks ago.
Nonetheless, it evidently meant quite a bit to the three-star, as Wisconsin beat out Oklahoma for the linebacker in what essentially was a two-team battle.
He becomes the second linebacker to commit and the ninth player to verbally pledge for the Badgers in the 2026 class, and there’s more to come from a busy weekend.
Wisconsin started off slower in this recruiting class, but they’re off to a fast start with two top targets to kick off official visits, and are making up ground coming out for the weekend.
