Wisconsin is going the international route for a touted recruit.
The Wisconsin Badgers have secured a commitment from Lithuanian forward Alexis Bieliauskas, he announced on Thursday.
Bieliauskas, a 19-year-old prospect, is averaging 12.2 points and 6.7 rebounds per game while shooting 53.5 percent from the field and 40.4 percent from three for BC Zalgiris Kaunas II.
The forward was a part of Lithuania’s U18 FIBA World Championship team in 2023, where he averaged 8.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
The Badgers have been busy retooling their roster this offseason, landing commitments from San Diego State guard Nick Boyd, Virginia wing Andrew Rohde, and Portland forward Austin Rapp in the transfer portal.
Now, they’re getting more depth with the addition of Bieliauskas, who stands 6’9, 210 pounds, and could factor into the forward/center rotation for Wisconsin next year.
The Badgers have dipped into the international world in recent years, landing commitments from New Zealand’s Hayden Jones (2025 class) and Jackson Ball (2026 class) after getting Riccardo Greppi in their 2024 class.
Wisconsin will now have seven new faces on its roster in 2025: its three transfers, Bieliauskas, Jones, four-star Zach Kinziger, and three-star Will Garlock. They will join John Blackwell (assuming he returns), Nolan Winter, Jack Janicki, Jack Robison, and Riccardo Greppi as the scholarship players for next year.
The Badgers still have one scholarship spot available for 2025, and could use that for another depth piece in the transfer portal, but their roster is getting close to being set for next season.
