Big Ten Media Days: open thread Day 1

Paul Chryst and the Badgers don’t take the stage until Friday, but here is a place to discuss what stupid stuff PJ Fleck says on Thursday.

It is now officially college football season, folks. The Big Ten starts their two day media extravaganza on Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. CT, live on Big Ten Network, from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The annual tradition will have media, coaches and players, in person, discussing the upcoming Big Ten season.

The first day kicks off (football term) with commissioner Kevin Warren giving a State of the Conference address, or whatever it’s called. I’m sure Nebraska will have a problem with whatever he says. Following that, it’s a real murderer’s row of insufferable Big Ten coaches. The Douche King, P.J. Fleck leads off the day right after Warren speaks and then later on you’ve got Scott Frost, the triumphant return of Bret Bielema to the B1G Stage, James Franklin, Pat Fitzgerald and Jim Harbaugh.

Sheesh, that’s a…lot.

Maryland’s Mike Locksley is also talking on Thursday but I make it a goal to know as little as possible about Maryland football so I can’t say one way or the other if he’s as big of a tool as the rest of the lineup.

There usually isn’t a whole lot of drama at the Big Ten’s media days, as opposed to the SEC’s, but surely someone will have an opinion on COVID vaccines or NIL or the new 12-team playoff that will be tweet-worthy. Football is back, baby!
