Wisconsin could make a splash with their 2026 recruiting class soon.
The Wisconsin Badgers recently hosted 2026 four-star tight end Gavin Mueller on an official visit this past week, getting a top target to campus for the final time before his commitment.
Mueller, a native of Illinois, has accumulated 25 scholarship offers, but is now down to four finalists: Wisconsin, LSU, Notre Dame, and Colorado. Additionally, his commitment date is set for May 14th.
It’s been a busy month for the tight end, as he took an unofficial visit to Notre Dame two weeks ago before his official visit to the Badgers this past week. Now, he’s heading to Colorado and LSU for official visits before making his decision in two weeks.
While the Badgers have been interested in several tight ends in the 2026 class, Mueller is their top target at the position and would be a major pickup in the cycle.
Wisconsin currently has six commits in its 2026 class: defensive lineman Carmelow Reed, quarterback Ryan Hopkins, wide receiver Tayshon Bardo, offensive tackle Maddox Cochrane, cornerback Carsen Eloms, and offensive lineman Benjamin Novak.
Mueller could be the seventh, adding to a successful spring for the Badgers as a priority target at a position of need in the class.
