Kirschke, a walk-on for the Badgers in the Class of 2022, will move on with three years of eligibility remaining.
Through the spring, Kirschke had primarily seen snaps with the third-team defense at outside linebacker, working alongside true freshmen Thomas Heiberger and Anelu Lafaele.
In his true freshman year, the outside linebacker saw action in one game, while not appearing in any action this past year.
The Badgers spent the offseason looking to upgrade the outside linebacker position after not getting much production from the group last year, adding transfers Leon Lowery and John Pius, while Heiberger and Lafaele were part of a strong 2024 freshman class.
Wisconsin currently has six scholarship outside linebackers: Lowery, Pius, Darryl Peterson, Aaron Witt, Heiberger, and Lafaele.
Kirschke becomes the third transfer this offseason, joining quarterback Nick Evers and defensive lineman T.J. Bollers.
