The Badgers are making a change with their recruiting department.
The Wisconsin Badgers are making a change with their coaching staff, as Director of Scouting Casey Rabach will be moving to an on-field role as an assistant offensive line coach, according to BadgerExtra’s Colten Bartholomew.
Rabach, a former Badger and NFL lineman, initially returned to the program in 2022 as a personnel assistant. Upon the arrival of head coach Luke Fickell, Rabach remained with the program and became the Director of Scouting, working closely with recruiting aces Pat Lambert and Max Stienecker.
Now, Rabach is returning to his roots, as he’ll assist offensive line coach A.J. Blazek in an on-field role, while still seemingly being involved in recruiting in some way or another.
Rabach played for the Badgers from 1996 to 2000, leading him to be selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the third round of the 2001 NFL Draft.
After four seasons with the Ravens, where he earned the starting center job, Rabach moved to the Washington Redskins from 2005-2010, starting in 95 games over the five-year stretch, before his playing career came to an end.
That type of experience should be very beneficial to the Badgers, as they now have two offensive line coaches who were stellar college players at the position with Rabach and Blazek.
