The Badgers continue to pile on tough non-conference games.
The Wisconsin Badgers will take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Sunday, September 6th, 2026, at Lambeau Field, the school announced on Wednesday.
The game had previously been scheduled for September 5th, but will move over one day and be a part of the 2026 Labor Day weekend slate of college football action. The game is scheduled to be televised live by NBC.
There’s been quite a bit of movement with this non-conference game for the Badgers. Initially scheduled for 2020, the game was postponed due to the pandemic, which shortened that season.
The two sides first played in 2021 at Soldier Field, which the Fighting Irish won 41-13 on September 25th, 2021, and were now awaiting the time and date for the second game of the series.
That has now been set for Lambeau Field on September 6th, marking the first time in 10 years that the Badgers are returning to the esteemed NFL stadium.
Wisconsin has packed its non-conference schedule in recent years, facing Alabama in 2024 and 2025 (happening in Week 3 this year). Then comes the Notre Dame contest in 2026 before matchups against Pitt and Colorado State in 2027.
Looking even further to 2028, the Badgers also have a non-conference bout with Utah scheduled, while a potential game against Cal is there for 2029. Talk about having fun in the next few years to start the season.
