Winfield, a four-star recruit in the Class of 2022, caught seven passes for 90 yards this past season, and carries three years of eligibility with him after redshirting his freshman year.
Standing at 6’2, 205 pounds, Winfield had a significant offer list coming out of high school, with Oregon, Texas, LSU, Ohio State, Georgia, Florida State, Michigan, and Alabama all extending scholarships.
The Badgers have an intriguing wideout room, led by returnees Will Pauling, who caught 74 passes for 837 yards in 2023, and Bryson Green.
Behind the two starters, Wisconsin has a number of young, emerging options such as Trech Kekahuna, C.J. Williams, Vinny Anthony, and Quincy Burroughs who are all vying for playing time this season.
Wisconsin did lose a scholarship receiver in the spring transfer portal cycle, as Tommy McIntosh elected to move on, leaving them with nine scholarship wideouts.
