Wisconsin is looking to add a jumbo outside linebacker to their 2026 class.
The Wisconsin Badgers haven’t seen the best success at the outside linebacker position in their 2026 class, missing out on four-stars McHale Blade and Jackson Ford, and three-star Ben Duncum.
They also lost three-star Carmelow Reed on a flip to Ole Miss, leaving them with zero commits currently in the group for the cycle.
However, there could be a sleeper name on the radar. The Badgers hosted Cincinnati Bearcats three-star outside linebacker commit Jeremiah Gray on an official visit, according to 247Sports’s Allen Trieu.
Gray, who stands 6’7, 250 pounds, could fit the jumbo outside linebacker hole that Carmelow Reed left. He also took official visits with Kentucky and Iowa, and is seen as a player with upside, which the Badgers could tap into.
Wisconsin has been high on projection in the 2026 class, so it’s not a surprise they’re interested in Gray, as those physical traits at his size are unique.
The Badgers are looking for bigger outside linebackers in their defense after landing several in the transfer portal this offseason, as they look to better stop the run.
Wisconsin currently has Corey Walker and Micheal Garner, who stand 6’5 or taller and nearly 300 pounds, helping solidify the edge, where they struggled to contain the run in 2024.
Gray could be a candidate for that role in the future, and his recruitment will be one to watch heading into the fall.
