Badgers defensive line target cancels official visit to Wisconsin

The Badgers will not have a target come to campus next weekend.

The Wisconsin Badgers have had quite the weekend when it comes to defensive line recruiting.

After hosting them on official visits, the Badgers got commitments from three-stars Arthur Scott and Djidjou Bah on Sunday, adding two key pieces to their 2026 recruiting class.

However, their class took a step back on Monday when three-star commit Carmelow Reed flipped to the Ole Miss Rebels, while also cancelling his official visit with Wisconsin for next weekend.

That put the Badgers back to two linemen in their 2026 class. With Reed’s departure, it was unclear whether Wisconsin would open up its class for another addition. But, that seems not to be the case.

Three-star defensive lineman Jermaine Polk, whom the Badgers had been actively recruiting, canceled his official visit to Wisconsin for this weekend. If Wisconsin still had spots at the position, it would make sense for Polk to come in and potentially close out the class this weekend.

Instead, he could visit Rutgers this weekend before visits to Iowa State and Iowa to wrap up his cycle.

The Badgers often have canceled visits when their board fills out, as it’s unnecessary for both the school and the player. They usually have most of their first and second weekend players make it to campus before shifting things for their board during the final weekend. We’ll see how many spots they can fill up this cycle before hitting that third weekend, but they’re off to a good start along the defensive line.

Wisconsin is going after a number of outside linebackers. Perhaps one of them will slide to the defensive line room and play on the edge in the future. But, for now, Wisconsin appears content with taking just two players in the room. Scott and Bah seem to be those guys.
