One Badgers cornerback is looking to have a bounce-back season in 2025.

Last week, Wisconsin Badgers cornerback Ricardo Hallman was nominated to the 2025 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. Hallman was one of a record 197 college football players to receive a nomination.

Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association nominate college football players across the nation based on “their commitment to community service and leadership beyond the gridiron.” This summer, Hallman and other Badgers volunteered with the Miracle League of Dane County, where children with “serious physical and cognitive disabilities” get to play baseball.

“This is my third year, if I’m correct, doing it, and it’s always fun,” Hallman said, via SI’s Jake Kocorowski. “You know, it’s always really rewarding to get out here with the kids and just play around, run, and hopefully it takes a little bit of stress off the parents for a little bit. I know this probably makes their day, so it’s always super fun to do it.”

Hallman is the second Badger to be recognized this month nationally. Star tackle Riley Mahlman received All-Big Ten First Team and Fourth Team All-American honors by Athlon Sports.

Mahlman will lead an offensive line, along with Jake Renfro, that will emphasize running the ball under new offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes. He was ranked by Pro Football Focus as the sixth-best returning offensive tackle in all of college football. Last season, Mahlman allowed a mere two sacks on 405 pass plays.

The Badgers will open the 2025 season on Thursday, August 28, against the Miami (OH) Redhawks, with kickoff slated for 6:00 p.m. at Camp Randall Stadium.
