Wisconsin missed out on another safety target to a top competitor.
The Wisconsin Badgers saw another safety go off the board on Friday, as 2026 three-star Nick Reddish committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Reddish, a 5’11, 185-pound safety, is a native of North Carolina, and had long been presumed to commit to Notre Dame. Still, the Badgers were in the final group, getting an official visit for the safety during the last weekend of May.
Reddish also visited the Virginia Tech Hokies, which was another rumored destination, given that two of his brothers are on the roster there.
However, Notre Dame was always the heavy favorite for the three-star, so Friday’s commitment doesn’t come as much of a surprise.
Wisconsin currently has just one safety in their 2026 class, three-star Zachary Taylor, with their five other official visitors now all committing elsewhere. In addition to Reddish, four-star safety Jowell Combay committed to the Tennessee Volunteers this week.
Four-star Messiah Tilson was an early official visitor, but that recruitment ended up being a battle between Rutgers and Kentucky, with the latter winning out. Lastly, three-star Chase Geter committed to Syracuse, while three-star Tony Forney pledged to Missouri.
Now, Wisconsin will turn their focus to the fall, where a late commit or flip is in the cards.
