Wisconsin is in a great spot for four-star running back Amari Latimer.
In a turn of events, 2026 four-star running back Amari Latimer is visiting the Wisconsin Badgers… again.
The priority recruit was on campus this past weekend for an official visit, and the Badgers seemed to be in a great spot against some tough competition afterwards. But, Latimer is now making the return trip to Madison, this time on an unofficial visit, only further cementing his interest in Wisconsin.
Latimer has been Wisconsin’s top running back in the 2026 class for quite some time, to the point that the Badgers canceled all of their official visits with other running backs to go all-in on the four-star.
Latimer had released a top six that included Wisconsin, Texas, Michigan, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida State, while others like Miami were showing interest, but the Badgers are now getting his attention for two straight weekends to kick off the month.
It helps that his brother, cornerback Geimere Latimer, is a key member of the team after transferring in from Jacksonville State. But, Wisconsin’s recruiting staff has done a great job here and could add to a young, emerging core of Dilin Jones, Darrion Dupree, and Gideon Ituka with another highly-recruited back.
Latimer was expected to visit Michigan this weekend, but is no longer making that trip. He also has scheduled visits with Texas (June 13th) and Georgia (June 20th), but the Badgers are making waves in a big recruitment with the blue-bloods.
Now, we’ll see if they can close the deal this weekend on Latimer’s second straight visit to the school.
