There’s A Lot More Marquette WBB Scholarship Offers To Talk About

June 12, 2025 by Anonymous Eagle

Marquette women’s basketball head coach Cara Consuegra on the sideline in a game at Seton Hall in the 2024-25 season.
Gotta stay hydrated while offering all these scholarships | Marquette University

I circled back to find some more scholarship offers after writing about a handful of them last week.

Back on Thursday, I published a look at some new Marquette women’s basketball scholarship offers. I had a very technical process to unearth these: I searched for “Marquette offer” on Twitter. Somehow (I forget how, precisely) I had a revelation that I had excluded a few people by not searching for “marquettewbb offer” and thus capturing all the tweets where the team was tagged but the word “Marquette” was never actually used.

Hooooooooooboy, is it a lot, going all the way back to May 1st.

Let’s get into it, and we’ll go in chronological order by recruiting class.

Class of 2026

Yasmeen Schmidt

After a great conversation with assistant coach @CoachKD_MU and head coach @cconsuegra I am blessed to receive an offer from @MarquetteWBB Looking forward to building this relationship! @SAFinestbball @coachchaiahuff
@WilliamsFiles pic.twitter.com/Sh0yFQDc09

— Yasmeen Schmidt (@yasmeen_ba11er) May 2, 2025

Yasmeen Schmidt kicked off a run of very interesting scholarship offers, as the Class of 2026 is the group that’s making final decisions in advance of signing letters of intent this coming November. The San Antonio product lists herself as a 6’0” shooting guard in her Twitter bio, and from the looks of things, Marquette is getting in the door on a prospect that hasn’t quite popped at the high major level right now. From scrolling through Schmidt’s tweets, it appears that Houston is the only other high major offer, and the Cougars made that happen right at the end of April. Since the Golden Eagles offered, Schmidt has picked up offers from Grand Canyon, Fordham, and UTRGV.

While the offers haven’t been rolling in at the high major level, Schmidt has been a relatively consistent producer for Cornerstone Christian School on the far north side of San Antonio. Max Preps has four years worth of stats for her, largely because Schmidt has been playing varsity since she was in 8th grade. She’s averaged at least 20 points per game in each of the last three seasons to get to a four year average of 20.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.3 asists, and 2.0 steals per game. Schmidt has started to develop a three-point shot over the past two years, connecting on 38% and 35% of her attempts. She launched over 57% of her total field goal attempts from behind the arc this past season, so it’s safe to say that she’s comfortable letting it fly.

I don’t have any video to embed here for you, but Schmidt does have a Hudl page that was last updated back in February….. and it says she’s 6’1”, too.

Averie Lower

After a great call with @cconsuegra and @CoachKD_MU I’m excited to have received an offer from @marquettewbb pic.twitter.com/2aBBXBd59P

— Averie Lower (@averie_lower) May 3, 2025

Averie Lower’s Twitter bio lists her as a 6’0” shooting guard, and while she runs with North Tartan, a club based out of Minnesota, she attends high school in Iowa at Clear Creek Amana, just outside of Iowa City. This feels a little like Marquette getting on track with Lower a little late in the game, as ESPN has her ranked at #68 in the country at the moment. Then again, Prep Girls Hoops doesn’t even have Lower in the top 5 amongst Iowa prospects in the Class of 2026, so maybe there’s a bit of difference in opinions.

While ESPN might be tracking Lower as a high major prospect, it seems like she hasn’t quite popped at that level. As of now, her most recent scholarship offer is from Florida Gulf Coast, and going back to the start of May of last year, her only offers are from Belmont, Bradley, and Creighton. I don’t know how much of her switch from All Iowa Attack to North Tartan is going to have an effect on things here, but that is a thing that happened.

Lower has a Hudl page, although it hasn’t been updated since the first of the year. With that said, the most recent addition is a 4 minute highlight reel from the first part of her junior year.

Moriyah Douglass

After a great conversation with @cconsuegra, I am excited to receive an offer from @MarquetteWBB! Thank you so much for this opportunity!@jbs_gbb @PheeElite @WUhoops pic.twitter.com/Bml1VT74P9

— Moriyah Douglass (@moriyah_elann) May 3, 2025

Moriyah Douglass is an intriguing prospect if only for the size and position she lists in her Twitter bio. If she’s a 6’3” wing, then she has the potential to create mismatches on the outside with her height.

Douglass attends John Burroughs School in Saint Louis, which is over on the west side of town. She lists Napheesa Collier Elite as her club team, but in mid-May, she posted that she’s not planning on playing on the club circuit in July in order to focus on skills and weight training. She’s not short on high major offers, as Boston College, Arkansas, and Texas Tech amongst others extended invitations last year, but Missouri and Penn are the only programs to join Marquette with a scholarship offer since the first day of 2025.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is very helpful in figuring out what’s what with Douglass’ prep career, as they have a deep stats archive. This past year, Douglass averaged 18.1 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, and she added more than a steal and over two blocks per game as well. If she’s going to play the wing in college, she’s going to have to do much better than 27% from behind the three-point line. That’s in 15 games, and Max Preps has 19 games worth of stats for her this past year. 16.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 2.0 blocks is still pretty good.

Prep Girls Hoops has Douglass as the fifth best prospect in Missouri for the Class of 2026, and interestingly, they list her at 6’4”. They also list her as a power forward instead of a wing, so that’s worth keeping in mind.

There’s no good embeddable video here, but I’ll link to her Hudl page which was last updated in March.

Whitley Rogers

After a great conversation with @cconsuegra and @CoachDCLT, I’m blessed to receive an offer from @MarquetteWBB! @TNFlightEYBL @WeWorkHoops @aayers22 @Lady_Warrior_BB pic.twitter.com/nUXTKOB87R

— Whitley Rogers (@whitleyrogers_1) May 14, 2025

It’s a small thing, but if there’s a Class of 2026 recruit that was tabbed as the best player in their state in 2025, they’re probably pretty solid at that whole basketball thing. That’s Whitley Rogers, who was named the 2025 Gatorade Player of the Year in Arkansas. The 5’11” guard from Little Rock Christian Academy averaged 24.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.5 steals per game this past season to earn those honors.

It’s going to be an uphill battle for Marquette when it comes to recruiting Rogers. ESPN ranks her as the #41 prospect in the country right now, which is its own type of difficulty. Then there’s the difficulty of competition for her services. Since Marquette offered in mid-May, Rogers has added offers from NC State, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Arkansas (just had a coaching change, they’re not clueless), Missouri, West Virginia, Colorado, and Arizona State.

Rogers has a Hudl page and it was last updated in March.

Class of 2027

Jordan Speller

After a great conversation with @cconsuegra and staff!! I’m blessed to receive a scholarship offer! Letss gooo Golden Eagles!!! @MarquetteWBB pic.twitter.com/64F9XaItip

— Jordan Speller (@JordanSpeller3) May 2, 2025

Can I share another tweet with you? This one is from the last day of May, and I’d like to complement Miss Speller on managing her life and the expectations of coaches, too.

pic.twitter.com/uDVduSoq1B

— Jordan Speller (@JordanSpeller3) May 31, 2025

Jordan Speller has an ESPN page, which lists the North Carolinian as a 5’6” point guard. Why does she have an ESPN page? Because the World Wide Leader ranks Speller at #29 in the country for the Class of 2027 at the moment.

You want to watch some highlights? We’ve got NINE MINUTES of highlights posted 8 months ago.

That’s from Speller’s freshman year, as she made the move to Grace Christian School for sophomore year.

As you’d expect, there’s bunches of high majors already recruiting Speller. Virginia Tech and Houston have made offers since Marquette did. The Golden Eagles were following in the wake of Wisconsin, Georgia Tech, SMU, and North Carolina, although those last three offers came back in the summer of 2024.

Marley Spiers

Congrats to our 2027 Post @MarleySpiers23 on the offer from @MarquetteWBB @3SSBGCircuit pic.twitter.com/08RyHZO1eA

— Lady Phenom United (@United_Phenom) May 23, 2025

Yeah, it’s not a post from Marley Spiers, but she retweeted it, it’s fine.

The run of offers to notable 2027 prospects continues here, as the 6’4” forward from Tennessee is currently ranked #48 in the country by ESPN. I think it’s a safe bet that “is 6’4” as a sophomore” is doing a heck of a lot of the lifting here for Spiers’ recruiting attention right now, but she has to be showing the skills to go with it, too.

According to Max Preps, Spiers has been playing varsity with Clarksville Christian for a hot minute here, perhaps all the way back to 6th grade. I’m guessing she was already pretty tall by then. In any case, she hasn’t been a giant stat compiler quite yet, putting up 7.0 points and 7.9 rebounds in under 20 minutes a game this past season. She also dished 2.7 assists and had more than a block and a steal per game, and yeah, that kinda looks like the kind of stats that you’d want to see to go along with that size this early in the process.

As you’d expect, Spiers has been almost exclusively focusing on inside play to this point of her basketball career. She shot just seven three-pointers this past season, and those were the first seven attempts that Max Preps lists for her. If her inside game continues to develop, she doesn’t really need to get an outside shot going, but it’s never a bad idea to build up your skill tree, either.

Pressley Watkins

After a great conversation with @cconsuegra I am excited to have received an offer from @MarquetteWBB ! Thank you to the coaches and staff for this opportunity! pic.twitter.com/gwI9O4MxJn

— Pressley Watkins (@WatkinsPressley) May 23, 2025

You know what’s helpful? When a player puts their sophomore year stats in their pinned tweet.

Check out my Sophomore season highlights! @BSMGirlsHoops @MinnesotaFury @_Ant_Tuck https://t.co/nqKkQ8LZOz pic.twitter.com/RG154N9wZL

— Pressley Watkins (@WatkinsPressley) April 14, 2025

Thanks, Pressley!

She also included a link to a six minute long Hudl clip of highlights from her sophomore year.

Prep Girls Hoops lists Watkins as a 6’0” combo guard. She attends Benilde-St. Margaret’s School, which is in St. Louis Park on the west side of Minneapolis, Minnesota. PGH has her as the second best prospect in the state for this recruiting class.

Here in early June, Marquette is still the most recent team to issue Watkins a scholarhsip offer. It seems like she hasn’t quite caught fire with high major programs yet, as the only other ones that she’s posted about are Clemson and Kansas, and the Jayhawks offer came in May 2024.

Jazlyn Rhodes

After a great talk with @cconsuegra I am blessed to announce i’ve received an Offer from @MarquetteWBB ! Go Golden Eagles?! #SundayBlessings pic.twitter.com/8ehaWIGTL7

— Jazlyn Rhodes (@jazlynrhodes) June 1, 2025

Shouts to Jazlyn Rhodes for not just mentioning that she’s a 5’9” combo guard in her Twitter bio but also noting that she’s a lefty. Possibly important information there, as far as shooting mechanics and ballhandling and the natural tendencies of defenders go.

Rhodes hails from Missouri where she attends St. Theresa’s Academy in Kansas City. According to Max Preps, she averaged 14.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 4.3 steals per game as a sophomore this past season.

I want to point this out: Did you guys know that 247 Sports has started rating and ranking women’s basketball prospects now? No, Rhodes doesn’t have a rating or a ranking or a page….. but she did earn a “keep your eye on her” note when they debuted the 2027 top 25 back in October 2024. She wasn’t in the 25, but that’s worth noting.

Can I interest you in nearly 4 minutes of sophomore year highlights from Rhodes’ Hudl page?

Addison Medeck

After an amazing conversation I am grateful to have received an offer from @MarquetteWBB pic.twitter.com/uollInlfT3

— Addison Medeck (@MedeckAddison) June 1, 2025

A moment ago, we talked about 247 Sports and their development into women’s basketball recruiting. Well, let’s talk about the fact that Addison Medeck is currently ranked #37 in the country by 247 Sports. She’s listed as a 6’3” center, and here’s what Director of Scouting Brandon Clay wrote about her in mid-May of this year:

Medeck has the size and mobility to be a real problem at the frontcourt spot. She can consistently keep opposing offensive players from making plays on the interior. In that aspect, Medeck provides an interior presence that not many in her class bring inside. She is a willing rebounder and plays with toughness around the basket. Medeck was able to play through some contact on her left shoulder and still finish with her right.

Medeck hails from Papillion, Nebraska, where she attends La Vista South High School. Max Preps shows her having two pretty consistent seasons there for the varsity squad so far, averaging 11.0 points and 8.9 rebounds per game across 42 games worth of stats. She added a three-pointer to her game this past year…. kind of. Max Preps shows her hitting 41% of her attempts, which is obviously great…. but at a one attempt per game clip.

Her recruiting appears to only just now taking off. Creighton and Nebraska offered her a scholarship in 2024, and Miami joined the party after Marquette did. If that top 40 ranking from 247 is right, then Medeck is only scratching the surface right now.

Here’s 3-ish minutes of highlights from late May of this year:

Here are some highlights from the last few tournaments. @ETGmwgbb @3SSBCircuit pic.twitter.com/xFsf6IbrFZ

Class of 2028

Slight disclaimer: The next two offers are for young women who are just now finishing up their freshman year of high school, so I’m not going to put a ton of effort into trying to learn things about them. They’re so far off from arriving in college much less committing to a school, so I just can’t take these offers 100% seriously right now.

Janaya Cooper

After an amazing phone call with @CoachKD_MU and @cconsuegra , I am extremely blessed to have received an offer from @MarquetteWBB . Thank you again @cconsuegra , also thank you to the rest of the coaching staff. #UrgencySZN@vjhAlways100 @100_2028 @Sniderladybball pic.twitter.com/xrDCSkViUB

— Janaya Cooper (@JanayaC0_) May 20, 2025

Janaya Cooper lists herself as a 5’10” forward in her Twitter bio. We’ll see how long that lasts, as I don’t think she’s going to be able to play forward at that height at the college level, although it’s probably working out pretty well so far through the end of her freshman year of high school.

Cooper has a ton of scholarship offers already, with Michigan State, Miami, Purdue, Providence, Mississippi State, and Florida coming along after Cara Consuegra chatted on the phone with her. Cooper’s first high major offer came back in December 2024, as Notre Dame got on the board when she was in South Bend for a game.

She attends Snider High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Cooper was averaging better than 15 points, eight rebounds, two assists, three steals, and a block per game for her high school team when she snagged that offer, and I say it again: As a freshman.

Kayla Eberz

So blessed to receive an offer @MarquetteWBB!! Thank you to the coaching staff for this opportunity!!@CometsBallers @Carroll_GBball pic.twitter.com/ZsS7zDTk3V

— Kayla Eberz (@Kayla_Eberz34) June 3, 2025

You know what’s in Kayla Eberz’s pinned Tweet? Pictures from her time at USA Basketball’s tryouts for the U16 team that’s playing in the Americup in about a week. Seems good, especially since as someone who’s finishing up freshman year, she’s probably not going to turn 16 until either this fall or possibly even in 2026. No, she did not make the team, but that’s not really the point when it comes to Marquette recruiting her. USA Basketball lists her as a 5’11” guard/forward, and we’ll trust their evaluators on that one.

Eberz hails from Villanova’s backyard where she attends Archbishop Carroll High School in Radnor. Max Preps says that she averaged 12.9 points per game as a freshman, which is pretty good.

Class of 2029

Brielle Denkmann

After a great conversation with @cconsuegra I am blessed to receive an offer to play at @MarquetteWBB! Thank you for believing in me at this stage of my journey @MinnesotaFury pic.twitter.com/DPMxXCLs7I

— Brielle Denkmann (@BrielleDenkmann) May 23, 2025

Hey, you know what? Shouts to Cara Consuegra and her staff for being so on top of things that she found a young lady finishing up eighth grade that she wanted to offer a scholarship to right now. Denkmann lists herself as a 6’0” combo guard in her Twitter bio, and that’s the absolute extent of effort I am putting in to research eighth grade girls’ basketball in Minnesota.

And now, the scholarship chart.

Marquette women’s basketball scholarship chart after the announcement that Lee Volker & Abbey Cracknell would return for another season.

Back up at the top of the page, we highlighted four Class of 2026 prospects that just picked up a scholarship offer from Marquette. As you can see from the chart, Marquette definitely needs new faces for the 2026-27 season, as the Golden Eagles project to lose eight seniors off the roster from this coming season. That’s a lot, and even with Se’Crette Carter already committed for 2026, Cara Consuegra’s going to have to figure out something between now and then to make things continue to build in a positive direction. Generally speaking, it’s a little bit late in the 2026 recruiting cycle, as we’re about five months away from players being able to sign letters of intent in November, so issuing offers now does feel like MU is still trying to find answers to their upcoming roster shortage.
