Kinda cool that the Boilermakers have their entire non-conference schedule set and announced already, to be honest
Purdue men’s basketball announced their 2025-26 non-conference schedule on Tuesday morning. Yes, on May 6. Yes, we usually have to wait until deep into June to see the Marquette men’s basketball non-conference slate. Good on you, Purdue and head coach Matt Painter.
ANYWAY, we know that Marquette is visiting Purdue this season after hosting the Boilermakers in Milwaukee for a 76-58 MU victory back in mid-November, and so now we now when the Golden Eagles are making the return trip to Mackey Arena.
That game is set for Saturday, December 13th. I suspect that means that Marquette-Purdue will get a pretty solid television window, as that’s the week after college football’s Championship Saturday. That means it’s also one week before the College Football Playoff first round games, too.
What’s ahead of us.
The non-conference schedule.

The series against Purdue remains heavily lopsided against Marquette. Purdue has won 11 of the 13 all-time meetings in the series. Playing at Mackey Arena is also an uphill battle for the Golden Eagles, as both of MU’s wins in the series have come at Fiserv Forum.
We’re not going to dive into any kind of a preview of Purdue here as we’ll wait until transfer portal rosters are nice and settled for sure. Keep in mind, though, that Purdue is coming off their fourth straight 24 or more win season, and it’s safe to bet that head coach Matt Painter will have roughly the same kind of team one more time next year. Wander on back in July…….
