…we barely knew ya, Jorge!
Welcome back to another installment of Where Are They Now! In our first piece, we looked back at Rashad Vaughn and his post-Bucks journey and discovered that his basketball career has now landed in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague.
In this installment, we look back at a very random Bucks player. Once again, this edition takes us back to the Jason Kidd era, as we’ll dive into the career of Jorge Gutierrez.
In mid-January of 2015, Gutierrez made his way on to the Milwaukee Bucks. He was reunited with his former coach in Brooklyn, Jason Kidd, as the Bucks signed him to a 10-day contract. He then earned a second 10-day contract, which began on February 7th. However, his duration wasn’t much longer. From there, he left Milwaukee after they didn’t sign him any longer. He then landed with the Canton Charge. There was then some deja vu, as Gutierrez was brought back to the Bucks in April and signed a multi-year deal. He was then waived in October.
From there, Gutierrez would have a couple more NBA stints in him. In February of 2016, he signed a 10-day contract with the Charlotte Hornets. That would result in him spending the remainder of the campaign with them. The next season, he signed with the Nets, but was then waived after appearing in several games.
Gutierrez’s career would then turn international. From 2016-17, he was a member of Trabzonspor, which participates in the Turkish league. Following an invite to play on the Trail Blazers summer league team, he signed a one-year deal with Delteco GBC of the Liga ACB. He also apparently enjoys ping pong?
Following his departure from Delteco GBC, Gutierrez signed with Hamburg Towers. There, he’d average 14.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 5.9 assists. He’d remain in Germany, as he’d then transition to the BC Gottingen of the Basketball Bundesliga. Most recently, he signed with Peristeri of the Greek Basket League.
That puts another stamp on a Where Are They Now pieces! Do you have any suggestions of any players we should have next? Leave your thoughts in the comments section!
