Tracking the larger sentiments of Bucks fans week by week.
First off, apologies for not running the Tracker last week—this West Coast trip has my circadian rhythm a bit off! Anywho, the Bucks caught some big breaks in the form of injuries to opposing stars, but will head to altitude and face what appears to be a pretty healthy Nuggets team on Wednesday. But they’re not immune to such injuries, as Damian Lillard is nursing a strained right calf. How bad is it? We don’t know yet:
Unfortunately, the Bucks & Damian Lillard are waiting to learn the severity of his right calf injury as regular season winds down.
Lillard wasn’t exactly in a great mood in Phoenix.

On the one hand, it’s good that imaging didn’t reveal anything more significant than a strain. On the other, it’s a pretty nebulous injury. As we know from last spring, a soleus strain (part of the muscle complex in the calf) can keep a player out multiple weeks. At the time, Jeff Stotts of In Street Clothes mentioned the average time missed for that is 17 days, or six games. Dame himself strained his soleus in Portland and missed 15 games two years ago. For a generic calf strain, the average time missed was 13.7 days, or five games.
In this week’s Tuesday Tracker, we’ll get into your opinions about Dame’s calf injury, but first let’s zoom out and take a look at the standings. Then get your early read on the Bucks’ likely first-round opponent (omitting Detroit for now, who has the second-toughest remaining schedule).
As always, this poll will be open until midnight Central on Friday, and we’ll post the results later that day. Thanks for voting!
