Rockets not that into Kevin Durant

November 24, 2024 by Hoops Hype

In the wake of my own reporting on the Rockets’ trade outlook in last Sunday’s around-the-league notes, which detailed rival teams projecting Houston as a potential down-the-road trade suitor for Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo, it was conveyed to me that the Rockets’ interest in Kevin Durant has been overstated from the jump.

The Suns have definitely missed Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal offensively, but they’ve also missed what they provide defensively! We talked about it on the latest @PHNX_Suns pod (with thoughts from coach Bud!)

Will see how they feel afterward. Off Saturday. Looking to do 5-on-5 Sunday with the hope to have Beal and Durant ready for Tuesday’s game vs. Lakers. #Suns – 3:35 PM

The Suns’ offense hasn’t been the same since Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal went down, but it’s actually their defense that’s plummeted. We talked about it on the latest @PHNX_Suns pod!

More on this storyline

Gerald Bourguet: Tyus Jones on the emotional lift that having Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal back would provide: “It’s huge for us. K and Brad do a lot for us, they carry a lot of the weight for us. So that was a big loss. Not having one of them is a big loss, but not having both of them was huge” pic.x.com/Ji0TMgW857 -via Twitter @GeraldBourguet / November 24, 2024
Gerald Bourguet: “Good day for those two, we’ll wait and see how they respond tomorrow.” Mike Budenholzer said Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal did everything in practice, including “quite a bit” of scrimmaging. We’ll get their status for Tuesday tomorrow, but Bud said he’ll sleep well tonight pic.x.com/xuf2KjLtxN -via Twitter @GeraldBourguet / November 24, 2024
