Vegas, baby
The Milwaukee Bucks are headed to Las Vegas, as they knocked off the New York Knicks in the In-Season Tournament quarterfinals, 146-122.
Offense dominated the first, with both teams scoring left and right. Fueled by Giannis Antetokounmpo and AJ Green (yes, you read that right) — who hit several threes in the opening frame — the Bucks carried a 37-35 lead into the second quarter.
Milwaukee got some separation following a scoring spurt from Bobby Portis midway through the second. It would remain competitive though, as the Knicks put up a fight to stay right in the thick of things. The Bucks would maintain a three point lead at intermission thanks to a Damian Lillard trey, 75-72.
Things would really start clicking for Milwaukee throughout the third. Threes kept falling and continued to pad their lead, creating separation between the two teams. The meltdown for the Knicks finished with them finding themselves behind 112-96 going into the fourth.
From that point on, it was easy sailing for the Bucks. A massive run in the fourth served as the nail in the coffin for the Knicks. Milwaukee put the final touches on a 146-122 victory and is now headed to Las Vegas for the semi-finals of the In-Season Tournament.
Stat That Stood Out
The three ball inflicted a lot of damage for the Bucks. When it was all said and done, they connected on 23-of-38 threes. To put it in perspective, the Knicks shot just 23 threes. Through three quarters, the offense was firing on all cylinders. And here’s another one…after scoring a season-high 75 first-half points, Milwaukee scored a season-high 112 points through three quarters.
