The Bucks win big in December, but at what cost?
While I’m still on the mend and the Monday Morning Media Roundup consequentially on continued hiatus, the Milwaukee Bucks season never stops. And neither does their hunt for accolades. Having won the 2024 NBA Cup last Tuesday, Deer Diaries (A Milwaukee Bucks Podcast!) wanted to commemorate the moment in a way only we know how: by talking about it nearly a week after it happened.
I was joined by my colleague and noted NBA Cup skeptic Jack Trehearne to get to the bottom of what the NBA Cup final victory means, if anything. Has the short spate of injury woes Milwaukee sustained against the Cavs and Wizards validated the contempt of a glorified exhibition game? Or can we see a silver lining in the Bucks dishing out a beatdown of one of the Western Conference’s premier groups? Ultimately, like with everything, the truth likely lies somewhere in the middle.
We discuss the game and its implications, plus a few takeaways from the Cleveland drubbing, Bobby’s home heroics, some much-needed Wisconsin Herd talk (AJ Johnson, Tyler Smith, and Henry Ellenson take a bow), rapid fire questions, an update from the site’s favorite NBL club, and weekly predictions!
And of course, it wouldn’t be a podcast with Jack if we didn’t have some Ryan Rollins talk for good measure.
