NBA World Reacts To The Game 6 Referee News

July 20, 2021 by The Spun Leave a Comment

Chris Paul on the court for the Suns.

If Chris Paul wants to force a Game 7 for the Phoenix Suns tonight, he’ll have to overcome his greatest rival, Scott Foster.

Paul’s record in playoff games officiated by Foster is downright abysmal. His teams are 1-12 in the last 13 playoff games under those circumstances, and that one win came when Paul was out due to COVID-19 protocols.

Since this is a win-or-go-home situation for the Suns, they ‘ll need to play flawless basketball in Milwaukee tonight. That might be tough to do considering Foster will be the crew chief for Game 6.

Foster is known for long reviews and questionable foul calls. That’s not a winning formula for Phoenix, especially when you’re on the road in a hostile environment.

As you’d expect, NBA fans are having fun with this latest news involving Foster. Some fans believe he’ll be the “closer” for the Bucks tonight.

One fan posted a picture of Mariano Rivera with the caption “Scott Foster tonight.”

If the Suns lose Game 6 tonight, a lot of the postgame conversations will be about Paul missing out on a golden opportunity to add a championship ring to his résumé.

In a weird way, it’s almost fitting that Paul’s hopes of winning an NBA title rest on the shoulders of Scott Foster.

There’ll be plenty of stars on the hardwood tonight, such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Devin Booker, Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton and Chris Paul. And yet, it’s Scott Foster who can make the biggest impact in Game 6.

Tipoff for Game 6 of the NBA Finals is at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

The Suns need a win tonight to keep their championship dreams alive.
