NBA: Finals-Phoenix Suns at Milwaukee Bucks
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The NBA Finals are now tied at 2-2

This series is all tied up. The Milwaukee Bucks have defeated the Phoenix Suns 109-103 in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

NBA.com Box Score

Both teams would shoot poorly in the first. It wasn’t quite Wisconsin-Penn State Big Ten tourney level bad, but it was close. The Bucks would just shoot 32 percent from the field in the opening 12 minutes, which made them quite lucky that they were just down 23-20 after one period of play in this one.

The Bucks would be able to cut into the Phoenix slim lead in the second quarter, but ugliness still ensued from both teams. Khris Middleton and Devin Booker would start to both come alive, which was the main offense for both teams. Going into the locker room, both teams were all locked up at 52-52.

The third quarter would continue to be extremely close between the two teams. Devin Booker would go absolutely off, seemingly never missing a shot. The Bucks had zero answers for his midrange game. Going into the final period of regulation, the Suns used a strong final 60 seconds of play to earn an 82-76 lead.

But then, James Khristian Middleton showed up in a massive way. He’d be getting the game winning baskets down the stretch and just show up in a massive manner. After hitting a pair of jumpers, he’d connect on an and-1 from a Holiday steal. That’d put Milwaukee up 103-99 with 27.2 left — and provide them a lead that they wouldn’t relinquish. The Bucks would then win 109-103.

Stat That Stood Out

Khris Middleton just scored 40 points in an NBA Finals game. An absolutely unreal performance from him down the stretch. His jumpers and and-1 were absolutely crucial for Milwaukee. Whenever there’s a big moment in the clutch, K-Midd answers for Milwaukee. Tonight was just the latest example.
